Walt Disney, a folk hero, author and legend of his time, was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5th of 1901. He achieved many goals throughout his lifetime and obtained worldwide recognition through ideas that were formed from the use of creativity, optimism and imagination. He showed an early interest in art by selling drawings he created to neighbors and later studied photography and art in Chicago. In 1918 he also chauffeured Red Cross officials and drove an ambulance in France for the Red Cross. His creation of 'Alice Comedies' brought him recognition in Hollywood, where several other remarkable hits would follow. His dream however became a reality in 1955, when Disneyland Park opened.
