George Dennis Patrick Carlin was a spectacular comedian author and actor that was born in the Bronx on May 12th of 1937. In the 1960s George Carlin landed parts on both The Tonight Show and the Ed Sullivan Show which started his career. However, he became most known for his efforts as being a comedian in the 1970s. A comedy routine he performed called 'Seven Words You Can Never Say on Television' that led to his arrest is one many remember him for. This is due to the social, legal and political elements it contained. In 1975, Carlin became Saturday Night Lives' first host. He then appeared in numerous films, his own sitcom called 'The George Carlin Show and published his book 'Brain Droppings'. He was also awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001.
