• Heart of Gold was inspired by a young cancer patient at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Artist Susan Lordi wanted to honor his courageous spirit and kindness. "I hope that this piece expresses the pure and honest affection between a child and those who love and care for him," said Susan.
  
• Heart of Gold is packaged in the traditional Willow Tree box, but the text on the side of the box is a quote from Susan about her inspiration, and information about Children's Mercy. The enclosure card provides information about the donation. Also included is a donation envelope for anyone who wishes to contribute additionally.
